Tiefling Name Generator Pathfinder

Pathfinder tieflings differ from their D&D cousins in one important way: they don't all descend from devils. On Golarion a tiefling might be hellspawn (devil-blooded), pitborn (demon-blooded), grimspawn (daemon), or one of a dozen other heritages, and Pathfinder Second Edition's Remaster folds them all under the versatile heritage nephilim. That variety shows in the names. The Advanced Race Guide's sample tiefling names, such as Baru, Dellisar, Maldrek, Molos, Sarvin, Voren, Zoren, Allizsah, Indava, Kasidra, Kilarra, Mellisan, Mordren, and Nisha, are shorter and harsher than D&D's Greek-flavored Infernal names, with plenty of z, k, and r sounds.

Geography matters just as much. Cheliax, the devil-worshipping empire ruled by House Thrune, produces more tieflings than anywhere else, and Chelaxian names are Latin and Roman in style: Aurelius, Vitalis, Octavia, Drusilla, paired with noble house names like Jeggare, Sarini, Drovenge, or Oberigo. Tieflings from Varisia and the Sczarni caravans use Slavic-flavored names (Nadya, Kostya, Zellara), while those in cosmopolitan Absalom or Korvosa carry whatever their neighbors do.

A Pathfinder tiefling name works best when it says where the character grew up and what heritage they carry. Add a city ("of Westcrown") or a heritage epithet ("the Pitborn") when you want the name to double as a one-line backstory.
