Why so many generators?

A single “random name” tool can't know whether you want a Norse god, a Victorian surname or a bakery. So instead of one giant list, every generator here is scoped to one subject and built to follow that subject's conventions: elvish names use flowing vowels and Tolkien-style structure, Japanese town names use real place-name elements, and business names are short, spellable and brandable.

How names are curated

Each generator holds a hand-reviewed list of names. We check them for authenticity to the source (franchise rules, real languages, historical periods), for variety (no recycled prefixes), and for usability (no awkward spellings or accidental duplicates). Names themselves are not copyrighted by us — use whatever you generate for personal or commercial projects, though for business names you should always run your own trademark and domain checks.
