Evil King Name Generator

An evil king's name has to do two jobs at once: sound like it belongs on a throne, and warn you what sits there. Real history supplies the template. Monarchs were remembered by epithet (the Cruel, the Impaler, the Mad, the Faithless), and the epithet was usually earned after the fact, which is why the best fantasy versions read like verdicts rather than boasts: Othric the Merciless, Leofric VII the Starver, Sigismund III the Impaler. A regnal number adds the weight of a dynasty, and a surname built from dark compounds (Blackcrown, Gravemoor, Sorrowmantle) suggests a house with a long, ugly record.

Sound matters as much as meaning. Tyrants tend toward hard consonants and dark vowels: Malakar, Vorthane, Zarhul, Khaldrac, Mordraxis. Softer names work when contrast is the point, such as a boy-king or a smiling usurper whose gentle name hides the knife. Titles also shift the flavor: Witch-King and Necromancer-King signal sorcery, Plague King and Gallows King signal what the reign feels like, and "The Tyrant of Blackrock Keep" or "The King Who Drinks Sorrow" works when the people are too afraid to say his real name.
