Evil Kingdom Name Generator

An evil kingdom name has to do two jobs at once: sound like a real place where people are born and farm and pay taxes, and warn the reader that something is wrong there. Tolkien set the template with Mordor and Angmar, built on the Black Speech root mor (dark) and hard consonant clusters that feel hostile in the mouth. Most dark-fantasy kingdoms since follow the same recipe: gutturals and voiced stops (g, k, kh, dr, th, zh), dark vowels (o, u, aa), and the occasional apostrophe or diaeresis to signal a foreign tongue, giving names like Vhalgoroth, Kha'zuul or Dûn Morghul.

The second approach is the descriptive title, the way real regimes name themselves or get named by their victims: the Kingdom of the Black Sun, the Iron Tyranny, the Dominion of Teeth. It works because it states the regime's self-image or the world's verdict on it. A third flavor borrows a real language for texture: Latin (Regnum Noctis), Norse (Niflgard), German (Schattenreich), French (Royaume des Ombres), Slavic (Czarnogród) or Japanese (Yomi-no-Kuni).

This generator mixes all three so you can pick a name that fits the scale of your villain, from a cursed border fief to a continent-spanning dread empire, and pair it with an epithet like Vaskhar, the Kingdom of Nails when one word is not enough.
