"Archangel" means chief angel, and different traditions count them differently. The Book of Enoch lists seven: Michael, Gabriel, Raphael, Uriel, Raguel, Sariel, and Remiel. Beyond the core sets, Jewish and Christian esoteric texts name princes over the angelic choirs (Seraphiel, Kerubiel, Ophaniel), angels of the presence (Metatron, Akatriel, Jehoel), rulers of the zodiac months (Malchidael, Asmodel, Ambriel), and the leaders of the Watchers who fell (Kokabiel, Shamsiel, Baraqiel).

Because many spellings exist — Chamuel/Camael/Khamael, Zadkiel/Tzadkiel/Zadqiel — this list includes common variants so you can pick the one that fits your setting's tone. Traditional forms suit religious or historical fiction; the Kabbalistic spellings with tz- and -qiel feel more esoteric and work well for occult or high-fantasy settings.
