Succubus Name Generator

The succubus is one of the oldest figures in demonology. Her ancestors are the Mesopotamian lilitu and Ardat-lili, night spirits who visited sleeping men, and the Hebrew Lilith, who in later Kabbalistic tradition heads a court of four demon queens: Lilith, Naamah, Agrat bat Mahlat, and Eisheth Zenunim. Greek folklore added the Lamia and Empusa, medieval Europe added named seductresses like Meridiana (said to have tempted a future pope), and the grimoires of the 1600s gave us Sitri, Zepar, and Gremory, spirits whose office is to inflame love and desire.

Good succubus names borrow from that lineage. The strongest ones are either genuine mythological names or inventions that share their sound: soft opening consonants, liquid l and r sounds, and endings in -a, -ah, -ith, or -ine (Lilith, Naamah, Velisara, Vesperine). Poisonous flowers (Belladonna, Datura, Oleander), colors of blood and fire (Carmine, Cinnabar, Ignea), and abstract vices (Rapture, Avarice, Malaise) also read naturally as demon names, and work well as an alias a succubus uses among mortals.

For D&D and Pathfinder, succubi are Abyssal or infernal outsiders, so a harsher fiendish name (Xhalindra, Zaraeth, Umbraeth) fits their true name while a smoother name suits the human guise. This list mixes historical, literary, and original names so you can find both.
