Kenku Name Generator

Kenku are the flightless, crow-like humanoids of Dungeons & Dragons, cursed to lose their wings and their creative voice. A kenku can only reproduce sounds it has heard, so kenku names are not words at all. Volo's Guide to Monsters and Mordenkainen Presents: Monsters of the Multiverse describe kenku names as noises: a kenku warrior might be called Smasher, Clanger, Slicer, or Basher after the ring of weapons; a sailor might be Sail Snap or Hammerer; a thief might be Mouser or Lock Clack; and a wilderness scout might be Rat Scratch or Mud Splash. When written down, the name is simply the closest description of the sound.

The pattern is two beats: a source noun and a sound verb (Latch Click, Anvil Ring, Wolf Howl), or a single onomatopoeic word (Sizzle, Kraa, Cough). Because kenku store every sound they hear, some also go by phrases lifted from other people, so a kenku who grew up near a city gate might introduce itself as Who Goes There, and one raised in a tavern might answer to Last Call.

A good kenku name should be a sound your DM can actually make, hint at the trade or place the kenku came from, and be short enough that other players will use it in character.
