Harengon Name Generator

Harengon are the humanoid rabbitfolk introduced in D&D's The Wild Beyond the Witchlight and Mordenkainen Presents: Monsters of the Multiverse. They come from the Feywild, they are restless and quick, and the few named harengon in official adventures, such as the brigand Agdon Longscarf, follow a simple pattern: a short, bouncy given name plus a descriptive surname that sounds like something a neighbor would call you. That gives you plenty of room. Feywild names borrow from hedgerow plants (Clover, Sorrel, Yarrow, Teasel), from Shakespeare's fairies (Peaseblossom, Mustardseed, Puck), and from the rabbit-literature tradition of Watership Down and Redwall (Fiver, Hazel, Bigwig, Basil).

Surnames do the heavy lifting: Longscarf, Quickfurrow, Thumpwell, and Twitchett all describe a body part, a habit, or a burrow. Because harengon look to the Feywild's French-flavored courts as often as to English hedgerows, names like Odette Lapinet or Gaspard Longpied fit just as well and give a character a slightly foppish edge.

A good harengon name should be fun to shout across a field. If it takes more than a breath, shorten it or turn the surname into an epithet like "the Quick" or "of the Nine Warrens".
