Every mythology has a trickster, and their names tend to share a few traits. Many are short and punchy enough to be shouted in exasperation: Loki, Puck, Eshu, Maui, Coyote, Raven. Court fools and commedia dell'arte clowns (Feste, Touchstone, Arlecchino, Scaramouche, Till Eulenspiegel) give you a more theatrical register, while the pícaro tradition (Lazarillo, Pedro Urdemales) suits rogues who survive by wit rather than magic.
