Synth Name Generator

Gen 3 synths are identified by a letter, a digit, a hyphen, and two more digits, for example X6-88, H2-22 or K1-98. Courser designations often start with X or Z. Gen 1 and Gen 2 synths are not named individually at all, which is why only the human-looking Gen 3 units end up with designations and, later, real names.

Yes, the first few dozen are canon: Nick Valentine, DiMA, Curie, Paladin Danse (M7-97), Glory (G7-81), X6-88, Harkness (A3-21), Acadia's Faraday, Chase and Cog, and several others. Everything after that is original and written in the same styles so you can use it for your own character without colliding with an existing one.

Because that is what an escaped synth ends up with. After the Railroad's memory wipe, a synth receives an ordinary Commonwealth identity that has to blend in with settlers and vault dwellers, so retro-American names like Harold Beck and Verna Pruitt are exactly right. Synths also replace real people, as with Roger Warwick and Mayor McDonough, and simply take the victim's name.

A small section does. Humans calls its androids synths (Mia, Niska, Odi, Anita), Blade Runner has replicants like Roy Batty and Pris, and Detroit: Become Human uses model codes such as RK800 and AX400. Those are included for contrast, but the bulk of the list follows the Fallout conventions.
