Cyborg Name Generator

A cyborg is a human who has been rebuilt with machine parts, and its name usually tells you which side of that line the character lives on. Some keep the human name because the person survived: Alex Murphy is still in there under RoboCop's armor, Motoko Kusanagi keeps her name through a full-body prosthetic, and Adam Jensen never asked for his augmentations. Others are known by what was done to them: the T-800 and RK800 are model numbers, Seven of Nine is a Borg designation, and Grey Fox and Winter Soldier are program codenames that replaced a person.

That gives you four workable styles. Model designations combine letters and numbers (MK-9 Vanguard, CX-19, RX-78) and suit corporate or military builds. Military callsigns use the phonetic alphabet or a plain number (Delta-Six, Zero-One, Thirteen) and imply a unit of identical soldiers. Function or material names (Aegis, Sentinel, Tungsten, Ceramite) fit shock troops and bodyguards. Human names with a chromed-up nickname (Marcus 'Ironhide' Steele) work for street cyborgs and mercenaries in cyberpunk settings, where the nickname is often about the visible augment: Redeye, Blackarm, Steeljaw.

The list covers all four, plus surgical and mechanical vocabulary (Graft, Suture, Servo, Overclock) that reads as a nickname a half-machine person might earn.
