Omnic Name Generator

Omnics in Overwatch do not share one naming convention, and that is the first thing to get right. The sentient robots that came out of the omniums were built with unit designations (Bastion is an E54 Siege Automaton, Orisa is an OR-15), and the ones who won their freedom then chose names that say something about who they decided to be. Zenyatta, Mondatta and Ramattra took Sanskrit-flavored names when they joined the Shambali monastery in Nepal. Maximilien and B.O.B. wear ordinary human names that let them move through human society. Lynx Seventeen uses a codename and a number, the house style of hackers and ex-military units. Aurora, the first omnic to awaken, simply named herself after light.

So decide what the name is for. A monk or philosopher wants something soft, open-voweled and vaguely devotional. A corporate butler or casino owner wants a name a human client can pronounce without thinking. A Null Sector unit keeps its designation as a badge of defiance, or takes a blunt war-name like Ravager. A drifter who has never belonged anywhere might pick a word it likes the sound of: Lumen, Quorum, Vesper.

The list below mixes all of those registers plus names rooted in Numbani, Kanezaka and Volskaya, where omnics live alongside humans in the lore.
