Earthlings mostly follow food themes too. Bulma's family are underwear (Bulma is bloomers, Trunks, Bra), Chi-Chi and her father the Ox-King evoke Chinese kung fu films, Krillin's name comes from kuri (chestnut) plus Shaolin, Yamcha is dim sum, Tien Shinhan is a fried rice dish, Chiaotzu is a dumpling, and Roshi is simply old master. Even the movie villains obey rules: Bojack's gang are named after herbs and spices, Turles's crew after nuts and Garlic Jr.'s Spice Boys after spices and condiments.
