Cleric Name Generator

A cleric is a divine spellcaster who serves a god directly, and in most fantasy settings that means their name carries the weight of a church, a monastery, or a battlefield chaplaincy. The classic pattern borrows from medieval Christendom: a saint's or biblical given name (Aldric, Hildegard, Cuthbert, Perpetua) paired with an English or Norman surname, and often an ecclesiastical title in front: Brother, Sister, Father, Mother, Abbess, Canon, Deacon. Titles alone can be a name at the table, which is why 'Brother Aldric' or 'Mother Seraphina' works even before you invent a family.

In D&D 5e the cleric's domain shapes the name too. Life and Light clerics suit bright, open names like Liora Sunfall or Solenne Fairlight; Grave and Death clerics take somber ones like Marta Gravesend; Tempest clerics gain sea and storm surnames; War clerics wear oath-names such as Konrad Shieldsworn; and Trickery clerics get away with names like Fennick Twoface. Non-human clerics follow their own conventions: dwarves invoke Moradin and the forge, elves reference Corellon and the moon, and halflings honor Yondalla with warm, homely names.
