Chimera Name Generator

The original Chimera was a single monster: a fire-breathing lion with a goat's head rising from its back and a serpent for a tail, born of Typhon and Echidna and killed by Bellerophon on the winged horse Pegasus. Because it was one creature, its name in Greek (Chimaira, literally 'she-goat') doubled as a proper noun. Modern fantasy turned 'chimera' into a species and a category, so a chimera today might be a D&D lair monster, a Pathfinder beast, an alchemical fusion in Fullmetal Alchemist, or any patchwork of animals a writer can dream up.

That gives you several naming registers to choose from. Greek-rooted constructions like Trikephalos (three-headed) or Aigolykaina (goat-wolf) sound like they belong on an ancient vase. Latin forms such as Bestia Triformis or Ignivora suit a bestiary or a scholar's notes. Blunt English kennings like Cinderthroat, Threetongue, or the Goat That Roars capture how frightened villagers would describe the thing. And clinical labels like Specimen Theta or Splice fit laboratory-made hybrids.
