Zora Name Generator

Zora names in The Legend of Zelda are built almost entirely from puns, and knowing the three main sources makes it easy to invent new ones. Fish and seafood are the biggest well: Bazz (bass), Finley (fin), Ledo and Kodah (cod), Trello (trout-ish), Tona (tuna), Seggin (sea urchin, from the Japanese 'uni' joke), Torfeau (turbot), and Sidon (a real Mediterranean port, though he is every inch a shark). Water words come next: Rivan, Gruve, and Dunma echo rivers, groves, and dunes. The third source is music, a holdover from Majora's Mask, where the Zora band the Indigo-Go's gave us Mikau, Lulu, Evan, Japas, and Tijo, and later games named Zora like Cleff, Trebble, and Tumbo after clefs, treble, and tambourine.

Zora also observe a royal register. Kings and princesses take longer, more dignified names (Dorephan, Rutela, Ralis, Ruto, Mipha, Yona), and Zora's Domain uses titles freely: Prince, Princess, King, Sage, Captain, and Guard. Names are almost always one or two syllables for commoners and rarely end in a hard consonant cluster.

The list above collects canon Zora from Ocarina of Time through Tears of the Kingdom, then adds original fish, water, and music names in the same style, plus titled forms so you can build a full Domain guard roster, a royal court, or a single Zora OC quickly.
