RimWorld Name Generator

RimWorld names have a house style players recognise instantly. Colonists carry three parts: a first name, a nickname in quotation marks and a surname, shown in-game as Mara "Rook" Castellan. The nickname appears over the pawn's head and in every colony log, so it matters most. Good ones are one short word with a little grit or warmth (Sparks, Mutt, Sawbones, Bramble); the game's name pool leans on trades, tools, animals and weather rather than heroic epithets. Tribal pawns use a single name of one or two syllables, like Oki, Tuka or Dakom, with no surname.

Places follow a different logic. Player colonies tend to get hopeful or wry names that comment on the crash landing: Hope's Landing, New Arrival, Crashsite Hollow, Fort Muffalo. Outlander towns read like frontier settlements (Redpool, Greymont, Stonecrop Station), tribal camps borrow tribal syllables, and pirate bases take names like Crowfoot Den. Factions are named by type: outlander unions and confederacies, tribes named for a people or landmark, pirate bands with a violent animal or colour, and the Empire with grand houses and stellarchs.

Planets are generated as two- or three-syllable words that sound vaguely classical or alien (Caldris, Nebira, Orvaine). One planet, one colony and a roster of nicknamed colonists gives a new save its own identity before the first raid arrives.
