Predacon Name Generator

Predacon names follow the Transformers house style but with a beast-mode twist. Where Decepticon names are weapon systems (Shockwave, Blitzwing), Beast Wars Predacon names describe the animal inside: Waspinator, Tarantulas, Terrorsaur, Scorponok, Blackarachnia, Inferno the fire ant. Hasbro's toy designers used three tricks that still work. Take the creature's name and twist the ending (Transquito, Terragator, Cicadacon, Iguanus); fuse an animal with a threat (Quickstrike, Powerpinch, Lazorbeak, Spittor); or choose a single violent word that suits the beast's attitude (Rampage the crab, Inferno, Blight).

Later series kept the same logic. Transformers Prime's Predacons are dragon-like beasts with harsher, more Decepticon-sounding names (Predaking, Skylynx, Darksteel, Ripclaw, Grimwing, Vertebreak), and a few odd hyphenated ones like Hun-Gurrr and Ser-Ket. The original G1 Predacons were a combiner team of savanna animals named after what they do to prey: Razorclaw, Divebomb, Headstrong, Tantrum. The Japanese Beast Wars II and Neo series added names like Megastorm, Guiledart, Saberback and Killerpunch.

For an original Predacon, pick the beast mode first, then decide whether the name should describe the animal, the attack, or the personality. Compounds should be two punchy syllables each and say the name the way Megatron would sneer it, yesss.
