Hexblood Name Generator

Hexbloods are one of the three lineages introduced in Van Richten's Guide to Ravenloft for D&D 5th edition. A hexblood is a mortal who was transformed by hag magic: perhaps a child promised to a hag in a bargain, an adult who drank from a cursed spring, or someone a hag simply chose to remake in her image. They gain horns, spindly fingers, uncanny hair and a whisper of fey power, and they can hear through tokens of their own hair or nails.

Because hexbloods start life as another race, they usually keep the given name their parents chose. What changes is everything around it. A hag might rename her ward with a diminutive (Little Maud, Young Ansel), a coven might christen the character with a plant or household word the way hags name themselves (Nettle, Tallow, Wick), and the folk of a Ravenloft village will pin an epithet to anyone marked by the fey: Twice-Born, Half-Sworn, Left-at-Crossroads. Family surnames in the gothic tradition tend toward damp, tangled English words such as Hollowell, Nettlebank, Sallowmere and Coldharbour.

The strongest hexblood names carry that tension between the ordinary and the cursed. A plain Victorian given name like Wilhelmina, Ambrose or Perpetua paired with a surname like Gallows or Crookback tells the table this character was once someone's daughter and is now something else.
