Every culture in Calradia borrows its sound from a real medieval neighbour, so a Bannerlord name feels right when it follows the same borrowing. Vlandian names are Norman and Frankish (Derthert, Ingalther, Ecarand, Calatild) and nobles take the particle dey before a house name. Sturgians mix Rus and Norse (Raganvad, Olek, Vyldur, Svana) with clan names ending in -oving. Battanians are Celtic and Welsh, often with a double consonant or a -dog, -wal or -wen ending (Caladog, Ergeon, Cadwal, Branwen), and clans take fen. Aserai names are Arabic (Unqid, Adram, Sahir, Lamia) and family names begin Banu. Khuzait names are Mongol and Turkic (Monchug, Mesui, Hurunag, Tuya) and a rider is usually introduced as being of a steppe clan. Imperial names are late Roman and Greek (Rhagaea, Garios, Lucon, Ira).
