Username Generator

A username is the one piece of text that follows you across an entire platform, so it has to do three things at once: be available, be memorable, and fit the room. The same person might be quiet.riot.99 on a photo app, HeadshotHarper in a game lobby and LongTimeLurker_ on a forum. Most strong handles use one of a few structures: two unrelated words fused in CamelCase (VelvetThunder, GlitchGoblin), an adjective-plus-animal alliteration (FlannelFox, OrbitalOtter), a short lowercase phrase with dots or underscores (slowfade, unsent.draft), a real first name plus a verb or descriptor (elliewrites, leo.lifts), or a deliberately anonymous placeholder (NotABot_Nora, user.not.found).

Availability is the real constraint. Single dictionary words and first names were claimed years ago on every major service, which is why the names here combine two ideas or add punctuation instead of trailing numbers. If a handle you like is taken, the usual fixes are to add an underscore, swap a vowel for a dot, prepend its or the, or append a meaningful number such as a year or area code.

Before you commit, check the platform rules: most allow 3 to 30 characters, letters, numbers, underscores and sometimes dots, and many forbid spaces, consecutive dots or a leading number. Pick something you can say out loud and type on a phone without autocorrect fighting you.
