Your username is unique across all of Discord, lowercase only, and limited to letters, numbers, periods and underscores. Yes. Display names and server nicknames can be changed whenever you like from User Settings or by right-clicking your name in a server. Username changes are also allowed but are rate-limited, and an old username becomes available to others once you drop it, so switch only when you are sure.
