A Roblox username has to be unique across hundreds of millions of accounts, 3 to 20 characters long, made of letters, numbers and at most one underscore, and pass a strict text filter, so the names people actually end up with follow recognisable styles. Competitive players favour sharp compound handles (FrostByte, CrimsonBlade) or invented gamer words that end in -x, -z or -o (Vexori, Kryzen, Zaxo). Aesthetic and roleplay players lean towards soft, food- and nature-based names (MilkTeaMoon, Cloudberri, Sweetpea), often with doubled letters or slight misspellings to get around taken names.

Humour is the other big tradition. Names like BaconHairBoss, DefinitelyNotNoob and SirLagsALot poke fun at platform culture, and short mythic or Japanese words (Kitsune, Ryujin, Nox) give a name presence without trying too hard. Since 2021 Roblox also lets you set a display name, which does not need to be unique, so many players keep a long-held username and use the display name for whatever fits their current avatar.

When choosing, think about where the name will show up: above your character in Adopt Me or Bedwars, in chat, and on your profile. Short names read better in-game, invented spellings are more likely to be available, and a name that still works when you are fourteen or forty is worth the extra minute.
