Tusken Raider Name Generator

Tusken Raider names come from two very different sources, and both are worth copying. The oldest is the Decipher trading card and Legends material for the Sand People seen in A New Hope, which gave the warriors names like URoRRuR'R'R, RR'uruurrR and UrrOr'RuuR: strings of rolling Rs and long Us with stray capitals, meant to look like the barking, bantha-like cries the Tuskens make. The second comes from the Kenobi novel and the Republic comics, where Tuskens such as A'Yark, A'Deen, K'Sheek and A'Sharad Hett carry a single consonant, an apostrophe for the glottal stop, and a short hard stem. That second style is what most fans use today because it is readable and still sounds alien.

Settlers rarely learn those names. Moisture farmers and Mos Eisley locals describe Tuskens by a trait instead, the way the Kenobi settlers called A'Yark 'Plug-eye' for her mismatched goggle lens. Nicknames like Gaffi-Hand, Krayt-Slayer or Bantha-Mother work well for a Tusken seen from the human side of a vaporator.

Keep invented names short, heavy on k, r, sh and gh, and end on a hard stop. Tuskens bond to a single bantha for life and earn adulthood by killing a krayt dragon, so a war name or an epithet tied to that hunt fits better than anything soft or Core-World sounding.
