Swamp names carry more menace than almost any other kind of place name, and the vocabulary is richer than most people realize. English alone gives you swamp, marsh, bog, fen, mire, morass, slough, moss, moor, carr, and bottoms, and each has a slightly different meaning: a bog is acidic peatland fed by rain, a fen is alkaline and fed by groundwater, a marsh is dominated by grasses and reeds, and a swamp is a wetland with trees. The most effective fantasy names hint at a story, like Drowned Man's Marsh or Marsh of the Drowned King, rather than just stacking adjectives.
