Stalker Name Generator

In the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games, nobody in the Zone uses a real name. Stalkers go by a klichka, a nickname earned or self-assigned the moment they cross the Cordon: Strelok ('Shooter'), Ghost, Fang, Scar, Guide, Nimble, Sidorovich, Barkeep. Good Zone names are blunt and short, usually one word, and they tend to describe a job, a trait, an animal, a tool or something eaten and drunk around a campfire. That is why the community has names like Cheburek, Zubr, Kolobok and Salo sitting alongside grim ones like Skull and Bloodsucker.

Because the setting is the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone in Ukraine, names read naturally when they use Russian and Ukrainian slang or diminutives: Sedoi (grey-haired), Lysy (bald), Batya (dad), Vovan, Seryoga, Lyokha. Faction flavour matters too. Duty men favour military callsigns (Sapper, Gunner, Tracer), Freedom prefers loose, wry handles (Hawaiian, Loki), Bandits use prison and street slang (Bes, Kum, Bratan) and Monolith fighters barely have names at all. Anomalies, artifacts and locations such as Whirligig, Moonlight, Yantar and Pripyat also make convincing handles, since real players do exactly that in Anomaly and GAMMA.

Use this list for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 roleplay, Anomaly companion squads, Roadside Picnic-style fiction or any Chernobyl survival setting where the characters have long since stopped answering to their birth names.
