An MLP OC needs a name that could plausibly appear in the Ponyville background without being one of the hundreds of ponies Hasbro has already named. Real idioms make especially convincing names because the show does exactly this: Silver Lining, Second Wind, Fresh Start and Lucky Penny all sound like ponies who have been standing behind Rarity in the market for years.
