Goblin Clan Name Generator

Goblin clans are named very differently from orc clans, and the difference is the joke. Where an orc clan boasts (Warsong, Bleeding Hollow), a goblin tribe is named after something small, gross or accidental: a habit (Licktoad, Birdcruncher), a body part that went wrong (Broken Toof, Crookedtoes, Seven Tooth), a fungus or a swamp. D&D's Cragmaw tribe, Pathfinder's Licktoad, Thistletop and Mosswood goblins, Warhammer's Crooked Moon and Broken Toof night goblins, and Tolkien's goblins of Goblin-town and Mount Gundabad all follow that pattern, while Warcraft's goblins organise into trade cartels like Bilgewater and Steamwheedle instead.

The sound matters as much as the meaning. Goblin names favour short, clacky syllables with k, g, z and double consonants: Skragg, Zibzab, Grotnik, Snikkit. A clan named for its boss (Gutwad's Horde, Narkle's Gang) tells you it will fall apart the moment the boss dies; a moon or cave name (Gnawed Moon, Dripping Cave) says the clan is old enough to have a totem; a Warhammer-style Da-Boyz name (Da Moon Stabbaz) is meant to be shouted and misspelled.

Pick the group word to fit the scale: a warren or tribe is one cave system, a mob or gang is a raiding party, a horde is every goblin a warchief could bully into line, and a cartel is goblins who have discovered money.
