Wheel of Time Name Generator

Robert Jordan built the Wheel of Time so that you can often tell where a character comes from just by hearing their name. Two Rivers folk have short, English-sounding given names and surnames that frequently carry the al' prefix, a worn-down remnant of the old Manetheren nobility: Rand al'Thor, Egwene al'Vere, Nynaeve al'Meara, alongside plain surnames like Cauthon, Aybara, Luhhan and Congar. Andoran and Cairhienin nobles use longer, softer names, sometimes with a house name attached (Elayne Trakand, Dobraine Taborwin, Colavaere Saighan), and Cairhienin often add Damodred or another Great House.

Aes Sedai are known by given name plus surname among themselves, and by given name and the honorific Sedai to everyone else, so Moiraine Damodred is Moiraine Sedai. Their names range widely because they come from every land: Cadsuane Melaidhrin, Pevara Tazanovni, Yukiri Haruna, Siuan Sanche. Aiel names are short and hard, with no surnames at all (Rhuarc, Gaul, Amys, Sorilea, Couladin), and identity comes from clan, sept and society instead. Seanchan nobles carry long, formal names such as Tuon Athaem Kore Paendrag or Egeanin Tamarath, and Borderlanders use clipped, sometimes vaguely Japanese-sounding names like Ingtar Shinowa, Uno Nomesta and Easar Togita. The Forsaken took new names in the Old Tongue that mean something (Lanfear, Daughter of the Night; Demandred; Semirhage), and Age of Legends names run to three parts, as with Lews Therin Telamon.

The list above mixes canon characters with original names built on the same rules, so you can pull a Two Rivers farmer, a Red Ajah sister or an Aiel Maiden that would sit comfortably in Jordan's world.
