Real treaties are almost always named for the place where they were signed, which is why history books are full of the Treaty of Westphalia, the Peace of Utrecht and the Camp David Accords. The noun in front tells you the flavor: a treaty is the formal default, a peace ends a war, accords suggest a modern negotiated framework, a pact or compact implies allies binding themselves together, a concordat involves a church or religious authority, a convention or protocol sounds technical and multilateral, and an armistice or truce only pauses the fighting. Bilateral deals are often named for their negotiators instead, in the Harlow-Vance Agreement style.

The best invented treaty names borrow those conventions and then add one memorable detail. Name the treaty after a neutral town, a bridge or ford on the border, a monastery, or a ship where envoys met, and the name immediately implies a map. Treaties named for an event or symbol, such as the Treaty of the Broken Lance or the Hollow Crown, read like something later generations nicknamed, which suits legends and in-world histories. Numbered treaties (Second Treaty of Ashmoor) imply that the first one failed.
