T-Rex Name Generator

Tyrannosaurus rex means "tyrant lizard king", and most good T-Rex names lean into one of those three words. Tyrant names are the fierce ones: Ravager, Bonecrusher, Goreking, or Latin and Greek titles such as Imperator, Dynastes and Rex Regum. King names play with royalty, from Sir Stomps-a-Lot and Lady Chompsworth to plain King Rex. And because the real animal had bus-sized bulk and famously short arms, there is a long tradition of affectionate, slightly mocking names too: Rexy, Chomper, Nibbles, Tiny Arms, Meatball.

Real specimens set the other pattern. Museums nickname their skeletons, usually after the finder or the dig site, which is how the world got Sue at the Field Museum, Stan, Scotty, Trix, Bucky, Jane and Wyrex. Hell Creek, Montana, Dakota and Alberta make good names for the same reason, since that is where most T-Rex fossils come from. Fiction adds Rexy (Jurassic Park), Sharptooth (The Land Before Time) and Speckles (Tarbosaurus, but close enough).
