Comic strip titles have stayed remarkably consistent since the newspaper era. The most common formula is a character's name: Garfield, Dilbert, Zits, Cathy, Nancy, Peanuts (which was actually a name imposed by the syndicate). The second is a place or setting: Bloom County, Doonesbury, Gasoline Alley, Cul de Sac. Webcomics added a third flavor: two mismatched words joined by an ampersand (Cyanide & Happiness, Penny Arcade, Hark! A Vagrant) or a short phrase that describes the mood rather than the cast (Sarah's Scribbles, Poorly Drawn Lines, Nedroid).

The best strip title is short enough to fit a newspaper masthead or a browser tab, easy to search, and hints at the tone: domestic, absurdist, workplace, fantasy-with-a-twist. Titles built on a running gag or setting age better than titles built on a topical joke. Puns are fine, but a pun that only lands once will annoy readers who see it every day.

Before settling, check that the domain and social handles are free and that no syndicated strip already uses the name. Then test the title in the same font size you will use on your site header; if it needs three lines, it is too long.
