Scene Name Generator

Scene names come straight out of MySpace between roughly 2005 and 2010, when teenagers in the scene subculture reinvented themselves online with a screen name that was part joke, part identity. The classic formula is a real first name (often re-spelled with extra i's, y's, or a k swapped in for c) paired with a violent, gross, or dramatic surname that alliterates: Ashley Apocalypse, Cody Carnage, Kiki Kannibal. Real scene celebrities like Jeffree Star, Hanna Beth, Kiki Kannibal, and Jessi Slaughter set the template that thousands of kids copied.

The second big pattern is the xX...Xx wrapper (or XxXx, X_x, and so on) around a phrase that mixes something cute with something dark: xXGlitterGoreXx, xXHelloKittyKillsXx. That sweet-and-brutal contrast is the whole aesthetic, matching the fashion of neon hair extensions and Hello Kitty bows worn with skull belts. Dinosaurs, robots, ninjas, pandas, and the word "rawr" were everywhere too, so names like Raptor Rawr and Panda Panic are completely on-brand.

A good scene name should be sayable out loud, roll off the tongue with alliteration, and feel slightly ridiculous on purpose. Use these for throwback characters, period-accurate fanfiction, nostalgic usernames, or a costume party where you need a name for your side-swept bangs.
