Scene Kid Name Generator

Scene kid names come from a very specific place: MySpace between roughly 2005 and 2010, when teens with coontail extensions and neon Skittles-colored hair rebranded themselves online. The famous scene queens set the template. Kiki Kannibal, Audrey Kitching, Hanna Beth, Jac Vanek, Zui Suicide, Brookelle Bones and Jeffree Star all used a real (often cutesy) first name plus a surname that was either shocking, alliterative, or both. Boys did the same (Matthew Lush, Izzy Hilton, Chris Crocker), and thousands of imitators followed with names like Ashley Massacre or Britt Bombshell.

The formula has three parts. First, a first name spelled cute: Kayla becomes Kayti, Nikki, Sammi, Lexii, Britt. Second, a surname that is either violent-cute (Massacre, Kannibal, Cyanide, Bones), sparkly-cute (Sparklez, Rainbows, Kupcake), or an animal or object from scene culture (Dinosaur, Bat, Bunni, Panda). Alliteration is almost mandatory. Third, an online handle wrapped in xX ... Xx, often mixing lowercase, x's, z's, underscores and words like rawr, neon, skittlez, broken and kawaii.
