Roller Skating Name Generator

Roller skating names are softer and groovier than roller derby names. Derby skaters pick violent puns for the track; rink and street skaters pick names that sound like a playlist. The strongest ones borrow from the culture the sport grew up in: 1970s roller disco, rhythm and JB-style skating out of Chicago and Detroit, jam skating, and the outdoor Venice Beach and Central Park scenes. That is why you see so many names built on glide, roll, bounce, groove, shuffle and spin, often attached to a first name (Disco Dee, Glide Ryder) or a rink-floor move like the crossover, the dip or the toe stop.

Rink and venue names (Starlite Roller Rink, Boogie Palace) suit small businesses, pop-up roller discos and fictional settings.

Say the name out loud the way an announcer would between songs. If it rolls off the tongue in two or three beats, it will work on a shirt, a handle and a rink floor.
