Skateboard Name Generator

Skaters name things the way they name tricks: short, blunt, and usually funny. A board you ride every day picks up a nickname the way a car does (Old Faithful, Big Bertha, The Brick), and the best ones come from something that happened on it: the first hill bomb, the time it snapped on a six-stair. Brand and shop names work differently. Real skate companies have almost always taken their names from slang and spots rather than from aspiration, so a convincing made-up brand sounds like a ledge, a curb, a bail or a hardware part (Slappy Supply, Gutterwax Skate Co., Flatspot Wheels), not like a sports drink.

This list pulls from the whole vocabulary: trick names (kickflip, nollie, no comply, bert slide, primo), spot types (hubba, euro gap, flatbar, snake run), setup slang (seven ply, wheelbite, speed wobble, mall grab), the injuries (shinner, swellbow, credit card), and the daily life around it (night sessions, dawn patrol, dumpster decks, sponsor-me tapes). There are pet names for cruisers and longboards, brand-style names with Co., Supply and Hardware endings, and skater nicknames built from stance and style.

The test for any of them is whether you could say it at the park without wincing; if it sounds like something scrawled on grip tape in Sharpie, it works.
