Random Roller Coaster Name Generator

Roller coaster names have to sell a ride from across a park and in a two-second TV spot, so they follow consistent rules. Steel megacoasters go one word and go big: Millennium Force, Fury 325, Steel Vengeance, Kingda Ka, Leviathan. Animal and predator names dominate (Raptor, Mamba, Diamondback, Talon, Banshee) because they imply speed and menace and are easy to draw as a logo. Weather and physics names (Cyclone, Maelstrom, Vortex, Aftershock, Skyrush) are the second big family. Wooden coasters, especially classics from the 1920s to 1970s, use warmer, almost affectionate names with a definite article: The Beast, The Comet, The Racer, The Blue Streak, The Jack Rabbit. Themed parks name rides after a story instead: Runaway Mine Train, Expedition Everest, Cosmic Rewind.

Predators and mythic beasts come first, then weather and speed words, wooden classics with "The," Wild West mine-train themes, "Steel" and "Iron" hybrids, sky and space names for giga coasters, horror names for a dark-ride section, and fire names for a launch coaster.

When naming a coaster for Planet Coaster, RollerCoaster Tycoon, Parkitect, or a real park pitch, match the name to the ride type first (a mine train should not be called Hyperspace) and then to the themed land it sits in.
