Generate Phineas and Ferb names built on the show's formulas: new -inators from Snoozinator to Give-Every-Pigeon-a-Tiny-Hat-inator, animal agents like Agent Q: Quincy the Quokka, grand summer projects, Fireside Girls patches and villain clubs with a backronym. The main cast comes first.

About Phineas and Ferb names

Three formulas carry most of the naming in Phineas and Ferb. Dr. Doofenshmirtz's machines are a plain verb or noun plus -inator, and the sillier and more specific the better: Shrinkinator, Ugly-inator, Turn-Everything-Evil-inator. The animal agents of the O.W.C.A. go by Agent plus the initial of their species at work and by an ordinary pet name at home, so Agent P is Perry the Platypus. The boys' projects get grand, plain titles, as in the Coolest Coaster Ever.

The list opens with a block of names from the show: the Flynn-Fletcher family, their friends, the Fireside Girls, Doofenshmirtz and his relatives, Major Monogram and Carl, plus a handful of places and machines. It holds well-known names only and is not the full cast. Everything after that block is new and none of it is canon: -inators in short, hyphenated and absurdly long forms, agents by species, summer projects, Fireside Girls patches, rival scientists with their companies and schemes, villain clubs whose initials spell a word, and the residents and shops of a Danville-style suburb.

Every new -inator does something harmless and petty, which is the heart of the joke: the evil plan is always smaller than the machine built for it.

How to choose Phineas and Ferb names

  • Start an -inator with the effect, said as plainly as possible, then add the suffix. One word makes a quick gag (Hiccupinator); a whole sentence makes a better one (Give-Every-Pigeon-a-Tiny-Hat-inator).
  • Keep the evil small. An -inator that fogs up windows or tangles headphones fits the show far better than one that does real damage.
  • For an agent, pick the species first and take its initial: a quokka is Agent Q. Then give the animal the kind of name a family would call a pet, such as Quincy, Waffles or Biscuit.
  • Title a summer project with a superlative and no irony: tallest, loopiest, quietest, greatest. The Quietest Drum Kit Ever shows how the pattern works.
  • Build a villain club backwards. Choose a harmless word such as G.R.U.M.P. or B.R.U.N.C.H., then find a grand phrase whose initials spell it.

Frequently asked questions

What are the main Phineas and Ferb character names?

The family is Phineas Flynn, Ferb Fletcher, Candace Flynn, Linda Flynn-Fletcher and Lawrence Fletcher, with Perry the Platypus as the pet who is secretly Agent P. Their friends include Isabella Garcia-Shapiro, Buford Van Stomm and Baljeet Tjinder, and the villain is Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz. The opening block of the list has more of the cast, though not all of it.

How do you make an -inator name?

Take a verb, a noun or a whole phrase that says what the machine does and add -inator, with hyphens once it runs past one word. New examples from the list are Snoozinator, Pop-Quiz-inator and Make-It-Tuesday-Again-inator. The longer and more oddly specific the phrase, the closer it sounds to the show.

How are the animal agents named?

In the show, Perry the Platypus works as Agent P, so the letter stands for the species. The new agents here follow that rule, as in Agent H: Hazel the Hedgehog and Agent N: Nigel the Narwhal, and others are given as a pet name plus species, like Waffles the Weasel. They are originals for your own stories and games, not characters from the series.

Are the new names from the show?

No. Only the opening block comes from the series, and everything else was written in its style for fan stories, party games and original characters. This page is a fan resource and has no connection with Disney or the makers of the show.
