Browse 500 Money Heist names, opening with names from the series: the crew's city aliases such as Tokyo, Berlin, Nairobi and Denver, the Professor, and police and hostage names like Raquel Murillo and Arturo Román. After them come new names on the same recipe: city aliases like Kyoto and Havana, role titles like the Architect, and Spanish full names for crew members, inspectors and hostages.

About Money Heist names

In Money Heist (La Casa de Papel in Spanish) the robbers never use their own names. Each takes a city as an alias, so the crew is Tokyo, Rio, Berlin, Nairobi, Denver, Moscow, Helsinki and Oslo, led by a planner known only as the Professor. Later seasons add Stockholm, Lisbon, Palermo, Bogotá, Marseille and Manila. On the other side of the police line people have ordinary Spanish names, such as the inspectors Raquel Murillo and Alicia Sierra and the hostage Arturo Román.

The first 39 names in this list, from Tokyo to Tatiana, are character names from the series, given as names only with no notes on who is who. It is a starting point for fans and not a complete cast record.

Everything after that is new and built on the same recipe: real cities from every continent worn as aliases (Lima, Cairo, Kyoto, Havana), role titles on the model of the Professor (the Architect, the Notary), Spanish full names for the people behind the aliases, ranked police and negotiators, and hostages and staff. Some entries pair a new alias with a new civilian name, as in Copenhagen (Carlota Zamorano). Every new person carries a real Spanish given name and surname in an invented pairing, ready for fan fiction, tabletop games and party nights.

How to choose Money Heist names

  • Pick a city with no link to the character. The point of the alias is that it says nothing about who you are, so a quiet crew member can be Havana and a loud one Uppsala.
  • For a group, keep one city per person and choose names of about the same length. Two syllables are the easiest to call across a room: Lima, Cairo, Porto, Dakar.
  • Give the planner a role title instead of a city. The Architect, the Notary or the Watchmaker tells the table who drew up the plan without giving a name.
  • Write the real name on the back of the character sheet. A pair like Bern (Álvaro Gallardo), or Kyoto with a name of your own, gives you a reveal to play later in the story.
  • Spell the city the way the list does, accents included (Bogotá, Asunción, Kraków), or drop the accents everywhere. Mixing the two looks like a mistake.

Frequently asked questions

What are the names of the Money Heist characters?

The crew goes by city aliases: Tokyo, Rio, Berlin, Nairobi, Denver, Moscow, Helsinki and Oslo, with Stockholm, Lisbon, Palermo, Bogotá, Marseille and Manila in later seasons, all led by the Professor. Other names in the list include Raquel Murillo, Alicia Sierra, Ángel Rubio, Arturo Román and Alison Parker. The list gives names only and is not a complete cast record.

Which names are from the series and which are new?

The first 39 entries, from Tokyo to Tatiana, are names from the series. Every entry after that is new: city aliases such as Lima, Seoul and Valparaíso, role titles such as the Cartographer, and invented Spanish names such as Lucía Arrieta or Inspector Amaia Robledo. The new names are not presented as characters of the show, and this page is a fan resource with no link to its makers.

Why are the characters named after cities?

Inside the story the crew agrees to use city names so that nobody learns anyone's real identity. That rule is what makes the recipe easy to extend: any real city works, from a capital like Vienna to a port like Mombasa or a small city like Bruges.

How do I choose my own Money Heist alias?

Choose a city you have no connection with, make sure no one else in your group has it, and say it out loud a few times. Short names such as Porto, Quito and Accra work best as call signs. Longer ones like Ulaanbaatar are fun but get shortened fast.
