Minecraft Name Tag Generator

A name tag in Minecraft is an anvil, a level of XP and a chance to give a mob some personality, so the best names are short enough to read floating over a wolf and specific enough to be funny. This list mixes four kinds of tag: cute pet names for tamed wolves, cats, horses and parrots (Biscuit, Pebble, Sir Barksalot), joke names for farm animals and villagers (Cluck Norris, Hrmm the Librarian, Not a Creeper), gamer in-jokes (Water Bucket MLG, Ender Pearl Clutch, Fell in a Hole) and titles that make a cow feel like royalty (Madam Moo, Lord Clucksworth).

Some tags do more than label. Naming any mob Dinnerbone or Grumm flips it upside down, jeb_ cycles a sheep's wool through every colour, Toast gives a rabbit a special skin, and Johnny makes a vindicator attack other mobs. Beyond the easter eggs, a name-tagged mob never despawns, which is why players tag pets, iron golems, trading villagers and the zombie they keep in a pit. Keep names under about 30 characters so they do not stretch past the mob.

Use the list for survival pets, SMP lore animals, farm signs, adventure-map NPCs or a pen of chickens that all need names before the stream starts.
