Manifesto Name Generator
Titles for manifestos, creeds, charters and election pledges
Generate manifesto titles in every classic shape: The Slow Morning Manifesto, A Manifesto for Small Rooms, Ten Theses on Rest, The Maker's Creed and A Plan for Our School: Listening First. The list covers student council and union elections, clubs, art movements, teams, startups and personal creeds, plus comic ones like The Sofa Manifesto.
About Manifesto names
A manifesto is a short public statement of what a person or group intends to do, and its title usually says so at once. A handful of shapes do most of the work. The X Manifesto names a subject (The Notebook Manifesto). A Manifesto for X names who or what it serves (A Manifesto for Small Rooms). Declaration, Charter, Creed, Pledge and Vow signal how binding the text is, while Theses on X and Notes Toward X promise numbered points or a first sketch.
In British, Indian and many African schools and universities, a manifesto is simply what a candidate for prefect, head girl, class representative or students' union office hands to voters. Those titles work best as a role plus one promise the role can keep, which is why the election entries here lean on listening, feedback and small repairs rather than grand reforms.
The list of 1,000 mixes those election titles with club charters, art and design statements, writers' and makers' creeds, team and startup principles, personal manifestos, neighborhood pledges, comic declarations and a small set for fictional factions. Sixteen real documents, such as The Agile Manifesto (real, 2001), are marked with the word real and a year so you can tell them from the invented ones.
How to choose Manifesto names
- Match the document word to the weight of the promise: a Pledge or Vow is personal, a Charter is agreed by a group, a Declaration announces a position, and a Manifesto sets out a whole program.
- For a school or union election, put the role and one deliverable in the title, as in Manifesto for Library Prefect: Shelves in Order, and promise only what the post can actually do.
- Use a number when you have a list: Five Promises for Year Eleven or Ten Theses on Rest tells readers how long the read is and forces you to cut.
- A subtitle after a colon lets you pair a slogan with a plain label, for example A Plan for Our School: Listening First.
- Comic manifestos land when the form is solemn and the subject is tiny, so keep the grand wording and shrink the cause: The Sofa Manifesto, Theses on the Last Biscuit.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a manifesto, a charter and a creed?
A manifesto sets out aims and how its authors plan to reach them, usually before the work starts. A charter records what a group has agreed, so it suits clubs, teams and shared houses, as in The Housemates' Charter. A creed is a statement of belief and works for personal or craft principles such as The Workbench Creed.
Can I use these titles for a student council or prefect election?
Yes. Many entries are written for school and university elections, from The Listening Prefect Manifesto to A Union That Answers Its Email. Change the role or year group to your own, and keep the promise to something the post can deliver.
Are any of these real manifestos?
Sixteen entries are real documents from art, design, technology and civic life, and each one ends with the word real and a year, such as The Bauhaus Manifesto (real, 1919). Every other title was invented for this page. The list was not compared with any catalog of books or pamphlets, so an invented title may still match something that exists; search for it before you publish under it.
How long should a manifesto title be?
Short enough to fit on a poster or the top line of a campaign handout. Most titles here run three to seven words; when you need more, split the title with a colon, as in Ship Small, Learn Early: A Product Manifesto.
