KOTLC Name Generator

KOTLC names have a very specific flavor, and once you hear it you can spot a fake. Shannon Messenger's elves use given names that are real or almost real, usually a little old-fashioned and upper-crust: Fitz, Biana, Keefe, Marella, Wylie, Tiergan, Oralie, Alden, Della. The surname is where the invention happens. Vacker, Sencen, Dizznee, Heks, Redek, Endal, Ruewen and Alenefar are short, easy to say and spelled just strangely enough to feel like they come from a species that has been around for thousands of years. Nobles go by title and first name only (Lady Galvin, Sir Astin, Councillor Emery), and Black Swan members hide behind one-word codenames like Granite, Squall, Blur and Wraith.

The other species in the Lost Cities each get their own sound. Goblin bodyguards have hard, Germanic names (Sandor, Grizel, Woltzer), gnomes take gentle plant names (Calla, Flori, Lur), ogres sound like a growl (Dimitar, Gundula, Romhilda) and alicorns get bright sky-words like Silveny, Greyfell, Luna and Wynn.

This list mixes the full canon cast with original names built on the same rules, so you can name a new Foxfire prodigy, a Neverseen agent, a Councillor for your fanfic or an estate like Everglen that sounds like it was always there.
