Full Name Generator

A full name has to pass a simple test: would you believe it on a class roster, a mailbox or a byline? That rules out gluing any first name to any surname. Real names cluster by origin and era. Margaret Ellison, Wojciech Nowak, Priya Raman and Mateo Alvarez each sound right because the first and last names come from the same naming tradition, and Mildred Tanaka or Kelsey Marchetti sound right because American, British and Australian families have been mixing traditions for a century. A convincing list does both deliberately.

The names here come in three formats. Most are plain first-and-last pairs, the form used on forms, rosters and in most fiction. A block of first-middle-last names (James Robert Whitaker, Mary Elizabeth Carver, Luis Fernando Vargas) covers birth-certificate and legal-document use and the double names common in Hispanic and Southern US families. Middle-initial names (Robert J. Halloran, Catherine M. Brody) match how names appear on business cards, academic papers and older records.

Use them for fictional characters, placeholder users in a database or mockup, pen names and aliases, or to avoid typing real people's names into demos and screenshots. Each pairing was checked so that it does not belong to a well-known public figure.
