Fire Genasi Name Generator

Fire genasi in Dungeons & Dragons are the descendants of efreet or mortals touched by the Elemental Plane of Fire, so their names usually come from one of two places. Most are raised among humans and simply carry the naming customs of that culture; in the Forgotten Realms that often means the Arabic- and Persian-flavored names of Calimshan and Zakhara, where efreeti influence is strongest, such as Ishaq, Nazira, Bahram, or Zahir. Others take a name in Ignan, the language of fire elementals, which sounds hissing and sharp: Ashaari, Kaelith, Zorvath, Vashkar.

A third convention is the adopted name. Genasi who feel like outsiders sometimes choose an epithet that announces their heritage, whether a plain word like Ember or Cinder, or a surname built from it like Ashborn, Kindlebrand, or Coalbright. Names that literally mean fire in real languages, such as Aidan, Kenna, Alev, Atash, and Fiammetta, work especially well because they read as normal to other characters while still winking at the player.

When picking, decide first where your genasi grew up. A city-raised genasi with human parents deserves a human first name and maybe a fiery nickname; one raised near a planar rift or by an efreeti parent should sound distinctly Ignan.
