Destiny Guardians are Risen dead who usually cannot remember who they were, so their names are either what a Ghost called them, what they picked for themselves, or a fragment of a past life. That gives writers a lot of freedom, but each of the three races still has a clear pattern. Exos carry a name and a hyphenated number showing how many times they have been rebooted: Cayde-6, Saint-14, Banshee-44, Ada-1. The number is part of the identity, and higher numbers imply more memory loss. Awoken names have a Reef-born elegance, often two short words with soft consonants and Persian or Slavic echoes: Petra Venj, Mara Sov, Sjur Eido, Kelda Wren, Techeun Sedia. Human names are grounded and multicultural, reflecting the Last City's mix, as in Ikora Rey, Devrim Kay, Suraya Hawthorne, Jaren Ward, and Ana Bray.

Legends of the Last City add another layer. The Iron Lords used single names (Felwinter, Efrideet, Jolder, Timur), Dredgen is a title taken by followers of Yor's path, and Guardians who die famously get epithets like Toland the Shattered. Ghosts pick their own names, from the poetic (Ophiuchus, Sundance) to the practical (Targe, Glint).

The list opens with canon Guardians and lore figures for reference, then gives original names in each register: Human Hunters, Titans, and Warlocks; Exos with reboot numbers; Awoken of the Reef; and a few Ghosts. Pick the race first, then the tone.
