Asura Name Generator

Asura names in Guild Wars 2 are built for speed. Most are one or two syllables, they end abruptly on a hard consonant, and they love doubled letters: Zojja, Snaff, Vekk, Gadd, Kudu, Blimm, Phlunt, Kranxx. Vowels are usually a, o, e or i, and clusters like kk, zz, xx and pp give the names their clipped, mechanical snap. Female and male names sound alike; Taimi, Zojja and Oola are no softer than Snaff or Gorr, which fits a culture that ranks intellect far above anything else.

Asura do not use family names. Instead they identify by college (Statics, Dynamics or Synergetics), by krewe, or by whatever title they have awarded themselves. Councillor Phlunt, Krewe Leader Zebb and Blimm the Bold show how a short name gets padded out with rank or ego. Inquest members and villains follow the same pattern; Kudu and Scarlet's ally Kekt need no extra syllables to sound dangerous.

When inventing a name, aim for something a genius could shout across a lab: short, sharp, and unmistakable. The list mixes canon asura from Rata Sum, the Pact and the Inquest with original names that follow the same phonetic rules, and finishes with a few titled forms you can borrow for a krewe roster.
