A World of Warcraft guild name sits above every member's head for as long as they wear the tabard, so it is one of the most visible naming decisions in the game. Successful guild names fall into three broad styles. Lore-flavored names borrow the vocabulary of Azeroth's factions and orders: Vanguard, Wardens, Sentinels, Concord, Covenant, Remnant, and Court, combined with a place, a color, or a hero (Frostwolf Vanguard, Onyx Concord, Sons of Lothar). Names that reference official organizations directly (Argent Dawn, Kirin Tor) are typically taken or reserved, which is why so many guilds add a qualifier like Remnant, Initiates, or Vanguard.

Think about the guild's purpose before choosing. A serious Mythic raiding team wants a name that looks credible on Raider.IO; a roleplay guild needs something a Stormwind noble might actually say; a friends-and-family Discord crew can get away with Dad Guild.
