Witchy Name Generator

"Witchy" is an aesthetic as much as a job description. A witchy name doesn't have to belong to a fictional spellcaster; it just has to feel like it belongs on a jar of dried herbs, a tarot Instagram, a black cat, or a baby born under a full moon. That's why witchy names skew toward the natural world (Rowan, Juniper, Sorrel, Wren), the night sky (Luna, Nova, Vega, Cassiopeia), the Wheel of the Year (Solstice, Samhain, Beltane) and the goddesses and enchantresses of myth (Hecate, Circe, Selene, Brigid, Morgana).

Structure is flexible. Practising witches often use a single craft name (Rue, Vesper, Moonchild, Hedgewitch) online and in ritual, and single-word names also make the best usernames and pet names. Two-part names read as characters or personas: a soft nature first name plus a surname with a little darkness in it (Poppy Nightingale, Sable Winterbourne, Elowen Ashgrove). Poisonous plants (Belladonna, Foxglove, Hemlock, Nightshade) tip a name from cottagecore into gothic; celestial words (Astra, Andromeda) push it toward dark academia.

The trick is restraint. One witchy element per name is usually enough; "Luna Moonstone Nightshade" is a costume, while "Juniper Grey" is a person you'd believe brews her own tea and reads tarot on the porch.
