Warrior Cats Leader Name Generator

In the Warriors books a Clan leader's name is not chosen; it is earned at the Moonstone or Moonpool, where StarClan grants nine lives and replaces the cat's warrior suffix with -star. Fireheart became Firestar, Bluefur became Bluestar, Crookedjaw became Crookedstar. The prefix, given at birth, is the only part that survives, so a leader name is really a question of which birth prefix sounds commanding once -star is attached. Fire-, Tiger-, Thunder- and Storm- work because they were strong prefixes to begin with; the books also show that ordinary prefixes like One-, Doe- and Pine- become weighty by association with the office.

When inventing a leader for a fan Clan, start from a warrior name you would believe and swap the ending. A cat named Ripplesong makes a natural Ripplestar; a WindClan runner called Fleetfoot becomes Fleetstar. Prefixes tied to a Clan's territory feel right for that Clan: Reed-, Minnow- and Otter- for RiverClan; Gorse-, Heather- and Hare- for WindClan; Toad-, Adder- and Shade- for ShadowClan; Oak-, Squirrel- and Bramble- for ThunderClan; Cloud-, Sky- and Leaf- for SkyClan.

The list here mixes canon leaders from every arc with original -star names built from prefixes that appear in the series' own allegiances, so an OC leader will sit comfortably beside Bramblestar or Mistystar on the page.
