WALL-E Name Generator
Unit codes, probes and starliners, Axiom style
Generate WALL-E style names: the film's own robots and humans for reference, plus original sound-out unit codes like MOP-R, W-8R and D-CLOG, acronym probes such as FERN (Flora Evaluating and Retrieving Navigator), sister starliners like The Corollary, captains and pocket-sized pets.
About WALL-E names
The film names its robots in two ways. Some are acronyms that spell out a job: WALL-E is a Waste Allocation Load Lifter: Earth-Class, EVE an Extraterrestrial Vegetation Evaluator and M-O a Microbe Obliterator. The rest are short unit codes that sound out a job when you read them aloud: VAQ-M vacuums, PR-T makes passengers pretty, BRL-A is an umbrella, D-FIB a defibrillator and GO-4 the bridge's gofer. The humans get the plainest names possible, John, Mary and Captain B. McCrea, aboard a starliner called the Axiom.
The list opens with 21 names from the film, given for reference. The rest are original and follow the same two rules: sound-out codes for cleaning, galley, spa, nanny, repair, security, garden and bridge units, codes for reject bots that name the fault (WOB-L, HIC-UP), acronym probes and service units with full expansions such as FERN (Flora Evaluating and Retrieving Navigator), ship computers in the mold of AUTO, plain passenger names, captains with one initial, sister starliners named the way the Axiom is, and small pets and pests.
To write your own code, pick the job word, spell it the way it sounds, and put the hyphen where a letter or a digit can say its own name: W-8R, SEN-3, D-CLOG.
How to choose WALL-E names
- Read a code aloud before you keep it. A good one says its job in one breath: MOP-R, CHEF-E, SPUN-J, TOW-L.
- Let a letter or a digit say its own name: 8 in W-8R and LUBRIC-8, 10 in TY-10, 3 in PAS-3 and SEN-3, D in D-CLOG and D-LINT.
- For an acronym unit, start from a friendly word such as FERN, PEARL or OTIS, then write an expansion whose capital letters spell it exactly. Short joining words like "and" and "for" do not count.
- Keep the humans plain. A first name alone suits a passenger, and Captain plus one initial and a surname suits the bridge: Captain D. Halloran.
- A reject bot's code names the fault, not the job: DIZ-Z, FUM-BL, HAY-WYR. Pair one with a working unit for a comic duo.
Frequently asked questions
What are the WALL-E movie character names?
The robots include WALL-E, EVE, M-O, AUTO, GO-4, BURN-E, SECUR-T, VAQ-M, PR-T, BRL-A, D-FIB, HAN-S, L-T, VN-GO and NAN-E. The named humans are Captain B. McCrea, the passengers John and Mary, and Shelby Forthright of Buy n Large, and the ship is the Axiom. These 21 names open the list as a reference, not as a full cast list.
What do WALL-E and EVE stand for?
WALL-E stands for Waste Allocation Load Lifter: Earth-Class and EVE for Extraterrestrial Vegetation Evaluator. M-O, the small cleaning robot, is a Microbe Obliterator. The original acronym units in the list follow the same rule, for example MOSS (Microbe Observer and Soil Sampler) and BILL-E (Bulk Intake Load Lifter: Earth-Class).
How do I make my own WALL-E style robot name?
Choose the robot's job, spell the job word by sound, and split it with a hyphen so that one part is a letter or a digit saying its own name. That gives codes like SPUN-J for a sponge unit, W-8R for a waiter and D-CLOG for a drain unit. For a probe, write an acronym instead and make every capital letter of the expansion count.
Is this generator connected to Disney or Pixar?
No. It is an unofficial list with no affiliation to either company. The names from the film belong to their owners and are listed for reference; the rest are original names in the same style for fan characters, stories, and toy or pet robots.
